Banda asiática das mais cultuadas por aqueles lados, o Astreal se formou em 1996 com Ginette Chittick (baixo/vocais), Muhammad Alkhatib (guitarras), Joseph Chian (bateria) e Jason Ang (teclados/sintetizadores). As guiatarras aqui são altas e intensas, e o ritmo não tão cadenciado como um Shoegazer clássico, a pegada é mais urgente, assim é 'Projektion' e 'Lover And The Sea'. Em 'Wallflower' o clima fica mais arrastado, lembrando Slowdive. "Fragments Of The Same Dead Star" é o segundo disco da banda, lançado pela Wallwork Records, e já apresenta uma nova formação, com Redzuan Hussin (bateria) e Nick Chan (guitarra), Ginnete e Muhammad continuam. Quando os elemenos eletrônicos aparecem, como em 'Losing You', é impossível não lembrar de Curve. Antes disso a banda lançou "Ouijabluch" (1996) pela Pony Canyon, nesse intervalo entre os discos Ginette formou o PsychoSonique. Pra fechar ouça 'Death 7 Glitter'. Excelente.
